The annual September fair and fairground in Yecla

Two weeks of live entertainment and fairground attractions after the long hot summer in Yecla

The origins of the Feria de Septiembre in Yecla can be traced back to the reign of Felipe V (1700-24), when the town was granted privileges by the King, 1785, and it is known that in 1785 Mayor López de Alcudia authorized the setting up of stalls and inns so that fair-goers could be welcomed in the warmest way possible.

At that time the fair took place in November, but in 1839 Mayor Ortuño changed the date so that it coincided with the feast day of San Miguel in September.

These days it is an opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy the fairground markets, live music, theatre performances, sporting events and a myriad of other activities as Yecla begins to awaken after the heat of the long summer!

The annual September fair lasts for two weeks and is also associated with the Yecla Jazz Festival.
