Travel Tuesday: the date to get the best deals on flights to and from Spain
Many travel agents, hotels and airlines in Spain save their top bargains for this super shopping day
November has definitely become the top month for savvy shoppers in Spain, whether they’re getting in ahead of the Christmas rush or bagging a bargain for next year.
Black Friday is just around the corner, on November 29, with many retailers extending their sales throughout the week, which is capped off by Cyber Monday on December 2, when there are some super deals available on electronics.
If all this wasn’t enough, adventure lovers now have another date to look forward to when they can take advantage of the best offers of the year on flights and hotels: Travel Tuesday.
Travel Tuesday
Like so many of our modern holidays, Travel Tuesday actually originated in the United States. It’s traditionally celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, a period between summer and Christmas when there’s generally a lull in tourism. As a result, travel agents, hotels and airlines launch amazing offers to drive up demand.
This year, Travel Tuesday in Spain will take place on December 3, so if you didn’t manage to get the bargain you were looking for on Cyber Monday or Black Friday, there’s still an opportunity to book your ideal get-away.
According to the event’s official website, last Travel Tuesday, 83% more cheap flight deals were on offer than on Cyber Monday and 91% more than on Black Friday.
If we’re just looking at Spain, in 2023, airlines had discounts of up to 30% on this bumper shopping day.
How to find the best deals on Travel Tuesday
Airlines from all over the world such as American Airlines, IcelandAir, China Airlines, ITA Airways or Fiji Airways, as well as a large number of Spanish airlines and hotel chains, have signed up to this campaign. Other companies, such as Ryanair, are also advertising their own super sales this December 3.
The best way to take advantage of the offers is to plan your destination and dates carefully and, in particular, to use a comparison tool that allows you to identify price differences in real time and to be able to choose the best offer.
When it comes to flights and hotels, those with flexible dates will usually bag the best bargains.
