ARCHIVED - Ryanair steward on Murcia-Manchester flight gives hilarious rant about airline over plane tannoy
The “stressed out” flight attendant on the plane from Spain unleashed his displeasure with his employer to passengers over the speaker
A Ryanair flight attendant shocked passengers on a flight from Corvera airport in Murcia, Spain to Manchester when he jumped on the loudspeaker to make his feelings known about the airline’s treatment of staff.
The man was caught on video making his rant on the June 8 flight, and passengers shared it on social media.
The steward can be heard saying, with regards to a lack of any food or drinks on the flight: “I do apologise. If you want to file a complaint please do so – go to Ryanair.com.
“They don’t listen to their staff, they probably care about you more because you give them money. Instead, we’re costing them money.
“So give that a go, see how that goes. After four years I literally – I haven’t got high expectations for them, you know.”
One of the passengers who was on that flight said that they suspected something was amiss as the man seemed visibly “stressed out” just moments before he made his now notorious announcement.
“I had a feeling he was going to blow,” they said, “and sure enough a few minutes later he made the announcement. I felt really sorry for him to be honest, he seemed really stressed out.”
Another passenger assured that all “the staff [on the flight] were great and brought a bit of humour against a serious backdrop”, which he stated was that “the aircraft was completely unstocked of food and drinks, except water.
“The staff gained the support of all passengers rather than risk disruption,” he said, while “There was also another, potentially serious incident on the flight which they managed to a successful conclusion.”
Ryanair have released a statement about the incident, saying, “We sincerely regret the comments made by a crew member on this flight from Región de Murcia International Airport to Manchester (08 June), which are not representative of Ryanair.”
The news comes just days before Ryanair cabin crew staff in Spain are due to strike on June 24, 25, 26 and 30 as well as July 1 and 2 over poor pay and working conditions.
