Rafa Nadal vs Carlos Alcaraz in Las Vegas on Netflix

Spanish tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Rafa Nadal will face each other on Sunday March 3 at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, United States, in an exhibition match organised by Netflix.

Despite the fact that neither player will not be in 100% physical condition – Alcaraz is suffering from an ankle injury that has put him out of the running in Rio de Janeiro and Nadal still has some discomfort from his muscle injury – the event, titled ‘The Netflix Slam’, will be held in style and fans are already going crazy.

All tickets to the 12,000-seat venue sold out within minutes, and between them fans paid a total of 140,000 euros to play with the famous pair for a few minutes each.

Some special packages are still available for a pro tennis ‘clinic’ with both players valued at 46,000 euros.

Patrick Mouratoglou, current coach of Holger Rune and former coach of Serena Williams, joked on social media: “It’s more expensive than training with me.”

Of all the times the pair have played each other, the balance currently falls in Nadal’s favour, although the last time they faced one another, in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Masters 1000 in 2022, Alcaraz took the victory and later the title.

The event, which had to be postponed from last year due to a serious injury Nadal suffered to his iliacus psoas muscle, will be streamed live on Netflix on Sunday March 3 at 9pm Spanish time.
