ARCHIVED - Outdoor public swimming pools will open in 11 districts of the Murcia municipality this year
These are in Corvera, Murcia Parque, El Palmar, Puente Tocinos, Rincón de Seca, La Ñora, Aljucer, Sangonera la Verde, Sangonera la Seca, El Raal and Alquerías.
The municipal summer swimming pool season will start next Tuesday, June 30th, and continue until September 6th in the municipality of Murcia, which includes the urban area of the capital city and outlying areas surrounding the city including Corvera, Sucina and Gea y Truyols.
The open/air pools are in Murcia Parque, El Palmar, Puente Tocinos, Rincón de Seca, La Ñora, Corvera, Aljucer , Sangonera la Verde, Sangonera la Seca, El Raal and Alquerías.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In Murcia Parque there will be training sessions for federated swimming teams from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Among the safety measures which are to be implemented this year are: a reduction in capacity, observance of minimum security distance of 1.5 meters, payment by bank card only, no cash, the prohibition of the use of furniture, such as sun loungers, tables and chairs, installation of hand gel containers, deep cleaning and regular sanitising.
During the hours of public bathing, Murcia Parque will have five aquatic lifeguards and the rest of the district facilities will have two, in addition to the security service and the provision of semi-automatic defibrillators.
Payment is exclusively by bank card.
Whenever it is not possible to maintain a safety distance, the use of a mask will be compulsory for people six years of age and older during the entire time of movement between common spaces and at the times of entry and exit.
There will be no cloakroom service and the use of sun loungers, hammocks, chairs, tables and any type of furniture will be prohibited to avoid possible infections.
Minors may use armbands exclusively, as long as an adult is with the minor in the water but no other floatation aid are permitted. Users with disabilities may also use auxiliary flotation elements on an exceptional basis, always at the discretion of the sports technicians and providing that they meet hygienic conditions, also prohibiting shared use. The use of armbands or any type of float is not allowed in the 50-meter pool at Murcia Parque.
