ARCHIVED - December 2019: Free Sunday tours of Villaricos Roman Villa site in Mula
During December 2019 these free tours are available on the Sundays of 1st, 15th, 22nd and 29th December
During December 2019 the Town Hall of Mula is offering several free guided tours of the Roman Villa site of Villaricos (the “Los Villaricos” archaeological site: this link includes full history of the site ) which contains one of the best preserved agricultural villas from the Roman province of Hispania.
The 45-minute tours start at 10.30 am at the site itself, which is outside the town near the motorway exit in the Carretera del Embalse de la Cierva. From the RM-15, take the turning for Mula and go immediately right at the roundabout, the Roman Villa site is just a short distance up the lane. The covered structures can be seen from the motorway.
These tours are all given in Spanish, but English-speaking guides are available for advance group bookings: to reserve contact the tourist office in person, by telephone on 968 661501 or by using the safe contact box on the tourist office link below.
As a general guideline a group size of 20 people is sufficient to enlist the services of the English-speaking guide.
Other than that, non-Spanish speakers are welcome to go along to the standard tours, as sometimes there are group members who speak English, and there are informative boards in both languages.
For further local news and information regarding Mula visit the dedicated town section which is listed at the foot of every page.
