article_detailARCHIVED ARTICLEARCHIVED - Beach weddings to be permitted at 16 locations in Cartagena as of January 2023
No summer weddings will be authorized at Cartagena beaches to reduce the inconvenience to bathers
The Town Hall of Cartagena has announced that permission is to be given for weddings to be celebrated at 16 locations along the coastline of the municipality as of January 1 next year, at the same time making it possible for other tourism-related events to be staged there.
The locations selected in La Manga and Mar Menor are the Cala de Turco (Mar Menor), the beach of Entremares (Mediterranean), three spots on the Playa del Vivero (Mar Menor), Playa del Cavanna (Mar Menor), Playa del Ciervo (Mar Menor) and the Playa del Galúa (Mediterranean).
In addition, permits will be issued for weddings at the Playa de Levante and Cala Reona in Cabo de Palos, the beaches of La Azohía and San Ginés in La Azohía and Cala Cortina just outside the city of Cartagena, while on the inland shoreline of the Mar Menor the locations named are Playa Estrella de Mar in Los Urrutias, the beach of Mar de Cristal and the beach of Villas Caravaning.
Applications for weddings at these locations in the first half of 2023 must be field with the Town Hall between the date on which the Town Hall order comes into force (some time in July) and September 15.
Please note that in order to reduce inconvenience to tourists no beach weddings will be authorized between June 15 and September 15 2023, but those hoping to tie the knot between September 16 and the end of next year should apply for permission before April 15 2023.
