ARCHIVED - Binter resumes Corvera airport flights in July to the Canary Islands
Domestic flights will resume at Corvera from the middle of June
Binter airline, based in Gran Canaria, has announced that it will be resuming flights between Murcia Corvera airport and the Canary Islands from July 4th, with flights weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Binter announced today that in July it will resume all former air connections with Murcia, Vigo, Mallorca, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Santander and Vitoria, suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Flights from Corvera will be via the airline's new single aisle Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which give the passenger more personal space. They are equipped with modern HEPA filters that filter 99.9% of pathogens and guarantee cabin air quality at all times, according to the company.
Corvera will resume domestic flights in mid-June.
This morning the Minister for Public Works, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, announced during an interview with the Onda Regional radio station, that Corvera airport will resume domestic flights in mid-June.
He was interviewed on the programme "Plaza Pública de Onda Regional" and during the interview said that the improvement in the Covid situation in both the Murcia Region and Canary Islands have made the resumption of flights between the two areas possible.
The Murcia Region is entering its second week in phase two on Monday and the Canary Islands of La Graciosa, Gomera and El Hierro enter phase 3 on Monday.
During the state of emergency Corvera airport has operated 18 flights with 22 passengers, none of which were commercial flights, but related to emergency services flights and the delivery of transplant organs, the Minister said during the interview.
