ARCHIVED - 6 new Covid cases in the Murcia region on Saturday
Cases have increased by nearly 20% since Tuesday of this week, with 13 new patients
Today the state of emergency ends and holidaymakers are heading for the Murcia Region from both the internal cities of Spain and from countries throughout Europe.
The public who have been in lockdown since 14th March are finally free to resume an almost normal life, with minimal restrictions.
But just as the doors are re-opening the number of cases detected in the Murcia region, and indeed in other areas of Spain, are starting to resume an upward trajectory, the health srvices and government continuing to issue warnings that the public must now take responsibility for their own safety and take greater care with social distancing and self-protection.
This week there has been a steady upward trend in the number of PCR positives detected, confirmed by the data released today by the Ministry of Health, which reports six new active cases of Covid-19, and one new hospital admission in the Region of Murcia.
There are now 83 people affected by the virus in the Region, as compared to last Tuesday when the figure was 70, so in the last 4 days the total number of cases has increased by almost 20%.
Of the 83 now affected, 7 are in hospital and 2 of in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while the remaining 76, are in home quarantine.
The number of fatalities has remained stable at 150 since June 9th, when the last death occurred and has only increased by one death in the last 3 weeks.
In the last 24 hours, the health centers of the Region have carried out 768 PCR swab tests to detect the presence of coronaviruses, and 305 rapid antibody tests have also been performed .
