ARCHIVED - 20th November to 8th December, Oxide Lover sculpture exhibition in Cartagena
Fernando Sáenz de Elorrieta exhibits his work in the Palacio Consistorial in Cartagena
Cartagena-based artist Fernando Sáenz de Elorrieta is displaying an interesting selection of his metalwork sculptures under the title of “Oxide Lover” in the Palacio Consistorial, the main Town Hall building close to the seafront in Cartagena, until Sunday 8th December.
The artist explains that his work deals with the body, the psyche and intimacy, while critics see traces of classical influences in the way he creates figures. His work will already be familiar to many people who have visited Cartagena, including as it does the 5-metre-high whale’s tail which can be seen in the port and the monument to the reserve soldier which sits on a stone bench between the Palacio Consistorial and the seafront.
“Oxide Lover” can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday between 10.00 and 13.30 and from 17.00 to 19.00, and on Sundays and public holidays from 10.00 to 13.30. The exhibition closes on Mondays unless cruise ship visitors are arriving in Cartagena.
