Andalucía weekend weather forecast Aug 7-10: Hot with possible storms and strong coastal winds
High temperatures persist with scattered afternoon storms inland and blustery conditions near the coast
As we move through to the weekend, Andalucía will see hot but settled weather with plenty of sunshine, but keep an eye on the mountains inland where isolated storms could bring heavy rain and gusty winds. Coastal areas will experience stronger easterly breezes, making it feel fresh despite the heat.
Thursday August 7

Expect mostly clear skies with some cloud building over the mountains in the afternoon. Central and eastern inland areas such as Jaén and Granada may see occasional storms developing later in the day. These could be locally strong, accompanied by very strong wind gusts and possibly muddy rain caused by dust in the atmosphere. Morning fog banks are possible along parts of the Mediterranean coast near Málaga. Temperatures will rise slightly during the day, while night-time lows remain steady or dip a little. Along the Almería coast and the Strait near Tarifa, light easterly winds will pick up to moderate strength.
Friday August 8

Friday will bring generally clear skies, with some low cloud and morning mist likely near coastal areas like Huelva and Cádiz. Cloud build-up in the afternoon may trigger scattered storms over the inland mountain ranges, especially around Córdoba and Granada, potentially strong with gusty winds. Night-time temperatures will edge up in the western interior near Seville, while daytime highs fall slightly elsewhere. Moderate easterly winds will continue along Almería’s coast, with lighter variable winds and occasional moderate gusts from the south in other areas.
Saturday August 9

The weekend begins with mostly clear skies. Inland mountain areas in the east may see some cloud development during the afternoon and a small chance of isolated storms, particularly near Jaén. Daytime temperatures will rise in the western third of the region around Seville and Córdoba but remain steady elsewhere. Moderate easterly winds will blow along Cádiz and Almería’s coasts, strengthening near the Strait, while lighter variable winds with occasional moderate gusts are expected inland.
Sunday August 10

Sunday looks similar with mostly clear skies and some cloud forming over eastern mountains again. Temperatures will increase in the western third of Andalucía, including Málaga and Huelva, while staying much the same across the rest of the region. Winds will remain moderate easterlies in Cádiz and Almería, strengthening with strong gusts near the Strait of Gibraltar. Elsewhere, expect light variable winds with occasional moderate gusts from the south.
All in all, the weekend offers plenty of warmth and sunshine, but inland residents should be prepared for some afternoon storms, while coastal areas will experience lively easterly winds that could make things feel quite blustery at times.
