ARCHIVED - 2 Scottish nationals stabbed in argument outside Torre Pacheco Golf Resort
The two men were found bleeding next to the Mar Menor Golf Resort
The Guardia Civil is investigating an incident involving three Scottish nationals in the early hours of Friday morning, during which two of the men were stabbed.
Both were taken to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia; one required surgery in the abdomen and the other had a serious and deep wound on one of his forearms.
Little detail is known about where the men had been drinking, as the incident reportedly took place at around 3am in the morning; obviously bars are obliged to close by 01:00 so what happened during the intervening time period is unclear, although a large amount of alcohol appears to have been consumed during what apparently began as a night out for three men who knew each other, presumably as friends or business associates.
There is also considerable confusion over where the stabbings took place, as a luxury SUV vehicle reportedly belonging to one of the men was left parked inside the entry of the Mar Menor Golf Resort with its tyres slashed, although the on-site security guard, who called the 112 services maintains that the incident had not taken place on the resort, but outside of the gate, so may not even be linked to the resort in any way.
It’s highly unlikely that a taxi driver would have consented to transporting two men bleeding heavily in the back of his cab and taken them to a golf resort rather than a hospital, which does suggest that the incident took place outside the resort, but no-one actually witnessed the stabbings. The third man involved was unwilling to give any information at the time of the incident, and police will only reveal details of an investigation to the media when a prosection is involved and the facts clarified, no further information is available other than that the incident occurred.
The call-out was attended by members of the Guardia Civil, the Local Police of Torre Pacheco, and an ambulance, whose health workers provided initial assistance to the wounded, before transferring them to the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital.
