ARCHIVED - Pressure on hospitals starts to increase as covid numbers rise on Monday
On Monday 563 new cases and three deaths were reported
563 new covid cases have been reported in the Murcia region during the last 24 hours, a lower number than in previous days, but Monday is always a non-typical day due to the fact that the number of PCR tests undertaken at the weekend is lower. The figures presented on Monday relate to Sunday, when less personnel work, so less than 4,000 tests were undertaken on Sunday, yielding 563 cases.
Of these, 175 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 61 to Lorca, 46 to Cartagena, 43 to Molina de Segura, 36 to Totana, 17 to Fuente Álamo, 13 to Fortuna, 13 to Jumilla, 12 to Alcantarilla, 12 to Alguazas, 10 to Alhama de Murcia, 10 to Yecla, 9 to Cieza, 9 to Santomera, 8 to Caravaca de la Cruz, 8 to Puerto Lumbreras, 7 to Águilas, 7 to Archena, 7 to Beniel, 7 to Moratalla, 6 to Ceutí, and 6 to Las Cotillas Towers. The rest are distributed among the remaining municipalities in smaller quantities.
Number of new cases in the last 7 days:
By municipality on Monday: Note, the first figure shown is the actual number of cases diagnosed in the last 7 days, the second is the IA rate for the last 7 days (number of cases per 100,000 of population): In brackets the number of cases is indicated as either a positive or negative compared to the situation last Friday when this breakdown was last published, taking into consideration that patients are recovering and being removed from the list all the time)

Those from other regions diagnosed in Murcia 73
Total 4987 . Acumulated IA rate in the last 7 days: 333 (this has risen from 286 since Friday).
Fatalities:
There have been three fatalities within the last 24 hours, two females and one male, aged 60,77 and 82 from Cartagena, San Pedro del Pinatar and Águilas. There have now been 292 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Hospitalisations:
As the number of covid cases rise, so do the data which really make a difference; the number of patients requiring hospital care.
In the last 24 hours, the number of patients hospitalised has risen by a further 20, to a new record total of 467. The situation in intensive care has also worsened, with two more patients than Saturday, bringing this total up to 83.
There is the potential for further capacity for covid patients, but this does mean the re-organisation of hospitals to create spaces in which covid patients can be isolated.
There are also 9,723 patients in home isolation with mild symptoms.
Recoveries
We now have a total of 21,381 former patients who have been given the all clear. As the number of recoveries exceeded the number of new cases, this has resulted in a fall in the number of active cases, so of the 33,569 cases diagnosed in the region since the beginning of the pandemic, we now have 10,190 still active.
